DR. ROSS FAIR WINS JOE ZBORALSKI TEACHING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AWARD

Dr. Ross Fair is the recipient of the inaugural Joe Zboralski Teaching and Community Engagement Award, recognizing a CUPE contract lecturer who has demonstrated leadership through teaching and impact on community engagement, internally or externally to Toronto Metropolitan University.

Dr. Fair's commitment to community-based learning, partnerships with a variety of local heritage organizations, and dedication to mentoring his CUPE colleagues render him a fitting ambassador for Joe Zboralski's inspiring legacy. Through his regular his course offerings, supervision of student-based projects undertaken on his own time, and membership on the boards of Toronto cultural institutions, Ross connects students and colleagues with professionals and thought leaders in our community. He is a tireless advocate for CUPE instructors and has helped set many of his students on the path to rewarding careers dedicated to preserving and enhancing our civic and cultural heritage.

In her letter of congratulations, Vice-Provost, Faculty Affairs, Patrizia Albanese noted that the Award Selection Committee recognized Dr. Fair’s nomination package as “truly outstanding,” while in his letter of congratulations, TMU President Mohamed Lachemi stated: “I am inspired by all you do to support students and instructors and to preserve and enhance our civic and cultural heritage.” The award will be presented at the Toronto Met Awards Gala on April 30, 2024.
