ISS alumni authors kickstart marking of the 20th anniversary of the MA program in Immigration and Settlement Studies
MA program in Immigration and Settlement Studies was proud to co-host (with Toronto Metropolitan Centre for Immigration and Settlement Studies) a Literary Lunch and Learn event on October 2 that showcased three ISS alumni authors whose debut novels achieved widespread acclaim and several awards. We are grateful to 2008 alumna Jennilee Austria-Bonifacio (external link) (Reuniting With Strangers (external link) ), 2010 alumna Sheila Murray (external link) (Finding Edward (external link) ) and 2019 alumna Janika Oza (external link) (History of Burning (external link) ) for taking the time to share their insights and inspirations for their books and for helping us kickstart the marking of the 20th anniversary of the ISS program. Thank you to ISS students Haram Siddiqui and Osman Ali for moderating the discussion with expert questions.
Stay tuned for more events throughout 2024-25 academic year highlighting ISS alumni achievements in different fields.
