Howard & Carole Tanenbaum collection sparks Ryerson exhibition

January 25, 2019

Howard and Carole Tanenbaum were here for Ryerson from before the beginning! They guided, advised and encouraged Ryerson as we created the Ryerson Image Centre.

Working with our founding director and collections curator, Howard was the founding chairman of the advisory board of the Ryerson Image Centre. Before that, Howard and Carole were already among the most dedicated supporters of our School of Image Arts. Since the RIC opened its doors in 2012, Howard and Carole have done so much to help it succeed.

TRUE TO THE EYES is a celebration of their extraordinary collection, truly one of the most important photography collections in Canada and all of North America. We are proud to present it. Howard and Carole have also generously donated works on the civil rights movement by photographer Danny Lyon. We are most grateful to them for their continued support.
