Biography

Dr. Krzysztof (Kris) Krystosiak is an assistant professor in the School of Graphic Communications Management at Toronto Metropolitan University since July 1st, 2022. He earns his Ph.D. (Cum Laude) in Mechanical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology (Poland).

He has major expertise in the printing and packaging industry, proven by over 16 years of employment in different job positions, from machine operator through six other job positions in the field of management, quality, technology, and R&D. At the same time, earned 3 levels of higher education, including Ph.D.

Kris has knowledge of data mining & machine learning techniques and their application in industrial processes proven by his awarded Ph.D. thesis by Statsoft and the Polish Statistical Association.

Recent research in the field of Industry 4.0 technologies and Sustainability Development practices in the printed packaging industry, implementation of data mining & machine learning techniques in manufacturing processes.

Research Interests

Industry 4.0 technologies and Sustainability practices in the printing and packaging industry. Implementation of data mining & machine learning techniques in manufacturing processes. Printing and packaging – new manufacturing technologies.

Organization and Management of packaging manufacturing processes. Quality improvement of printing and packaging manufacturing processes – with the application of the Lean Six Sigma concept. Development of active and intelligent packaging, with the application of NFC/RFID tags, unique QR codes, Augmented Reality and Watermarks.
