GCM's Research Labs

Design and Learning Research Lab

The Design & Learning Research Lab is organized around design and education research. In addition to academic studies that explore teaching and learning in/through design, the lab initiates student/community collaborations through the Centre of Participatory Design and Student Engagement. Furthermore, it cultivates dialogues for advancing design pedagogies for social change through its biennial conference Design Education and Justice.

Lab of Excellence in Digital Asset Management (LED)

The LED is focused on fostering in-depth research and education within the realm of Digital Asset Management. The LED's main objective is to strengthen collaboration opportunities with key national and international organizations, encompassing diverse domains ranging from operations to technology, in which DAM (Digital Asset Management) thrives. It will increase collaborations in interdisciplinary research that would be fostered by the ongoing growth of partnerships that TMU is establishing with various universities across Canada and around the world.

Sustainable Packaging Research Lab

The Sustainable Packaging Research Lab conducts research that contributes to the creation of sustainable packaging systems and design. Specifically, its research theme is based on the concept that sustainable packaging solutions can only be achieved when mechanical interactions between packaging components during distribution, environmental performance of different packaging systems and design, and human-packaging interactions are quantitatively examined in a system-based design manner.
