Dr. Gabriel Juliano
Gabriel M. Juliano is a Ph.D. Candidate in the School of Interactive Arts & Technology at Simon Fraser University (SFU), working remotely from Ontario. His scholarship is dedicated to the investigation Brazilian media arts productions (popular culture artifacts), such as films, music videos, and online live streaming media as transformative epistemologies.
Through critical analysis, he analyzes media productions as epistemic tools, underscoring knowledge creation through artistic and cultural practices, particularly in hip-hop. Additionally, he researches counter-culture artifacts' archiving and adoption at the post-secondary setting.
Besides having extensive experience teaching art, media, writing methods, and communications theories and practices, Juliano also has worked as a research assistant (project coordinator) at the Ontario College of Arts & Design University.
