Research

Dr. Triandafyllidou is the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Migration and Integration (CERC). Through the CERC research program, she leads as many as 30 different research projects on migration with a special focus on the role of migrant agency, the interaction between different drivers of migration and the global governance of migration and asylum (including irregular migration). She is the Scientific Director of Migrant Integration in the Mid-21st Century: Bridging Divides, (opens in new window)  an innovative new research program to further understanding of migrant integration during a time of rapid technological transformation. With regard to migrant integration, she has a special interest in issues of identity, diversity, nationalism and multicultural citizenship approaches. Dr. Triandafyllidou is particularly interested in analysing migration and migrant integration in relation to the wider processes of socio-economic and geopolitical transformation that characterise the 21st century.
