Karen Peñaranda Valdivia is an industrial and mechanical professional engineer and PhD candidate in her third-year of studies. She is part of Dr. Ali Mazalek's Synaesthetic Media Lab and is researching the development of a geospatial tangible user interfaces (GTUI), which is part of the the Knowledge Mobilization & Visualization Working Group for MEMO. Karen is also passionate about volunteering with children and vulnerable populations to promote STEM knowledge and equity.
