Important information regarding building access requirements as of January 31
To: Departmental administrators
We’re emailing you to inform you of changes to campus building access being made as Ryerson begins transitioning to in-person learning and more on-campus activity beginning January 31.
Consistent with the fall semester, as of January 31, all exterior campus building doors will require a OneCard to gain access to the interior of campus buildings. To gain access to a building, community members must tap their OneCards against the card readers present at main exterior building doors.
If you previously requested restricted access to interior spaces in your area, please advise if access should be reinstated
In some cases units that oversee access to their interior spaces requestedthat this be turned off during the pandemic. If your unit previously chose to turn off OneCard access to these spaces for students, action is required to arrange for student access to these spaces between now and Ryerson’s planned full return on February 28.
To reinstate OneCard access for students, please contact the Security Systems team at sesytem@torontomu.ca and include the access levels and time zones required for your interior space. Once we have received your list, the Security Systems team will require two business days to reprogram interior building doors.
Provide the OneCard Office with an updated list of students from your unit requiring interior building door access
To ensure all students from your department or program who require access to your interior spaces are able to access these spaces via their OneCard, we require units to share one of the following two sets of lists for door programming purposes:
- A mass programming list that includes all students from your department or program with the same interior door access level and expiry date
- Multiple mass programming lists that separate students by year of study or course section (that also have the same access level and expiry date)
Lists should be shared with the OneCard Office by emailing onecard@torontomu.ca and should include a student’s full name, student number, access level required, time zones and a start and end date for their access. The OneCard team requires two business days to update a student’s OneCard access levels.
If you did not make changes to your interior access, no action is required
If your unit did not request restricted access to your interior spaces, no action is required to reinstate access.
