Well-versed in various forms of storytelling through film, design and creative strategy. Ria Kapoor is a Media Production student at Ryerson University. Striving to tell stories and create content that spark joy, inform, and are important to her. Her work with non-profit organizations such as Amref Health Africa and the Canadian Music Therapy Centre give her a global and local perspective when storytelling. She is passionate about learning new media practices and applying her creative mindset in the work that she does. Ria is currently developing a game called TO Play that explores the gamification of environmental issues of Toronto. She hopes to use her theoretical and creative mindset to become a professor in her field.

Ria is the Communications and Media Research Assistant for the Colour of Birth project. She seeks to help tell important stories about midwives of colour in Canada with her unique perspective and ability to conceptualize and create a variety of works from ideas.
