Housne Behum

Bio

Dr. Housne Begum is an Assistant Professor, Health Services Management and a Sessional Lecturer at Dalla Lana school of Public Health (DLSPH), University of Toronto, and a researcher and sessional faculty at McMaster University (since 2012). Before joining McMaster University, she taught at the University of Dhaka and led research on broad range of topics in public health-epidemiology and health economic issues, including the impact of food supplementation on infant growth, program evaluation, cost-effectiveness, food supplementation on infant growth, program evaluation, cost-effectiveness, clinical trials of different interventions, antimicrobial resistance, HIV, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, more than 15 clinical guidelines and systematic reviews and meta-analysis for the WHO, ASH among others.  Housne’s interests include program evaluation and her teaching utilizes intellectual partnership models.  She has been supporting the MEP BIPOC Mentorship program for the last few years as associate researcher and administrator.

 

 

Housne is a co-investigator on this project and thrilled to be involved in research that informs curriculum and involves collaboration with students.  Housne supports the data analysis and knowledge translation on the team.
