Pierre-Yves Baudot is a professor of sociology at Paris-Dauphine University and a researcher at the Institut de Recherches Interdisciplinaires en Sciences Sociales. He is recognized as one of the leading specialists in the politics of rights and sociology of the state. His work focuses on disability policies in France from a comparative and multi-level perspective. In particular, he has worked on changes in governance within the disability sector over the past 30 years. He carried out the first study of the electoral behaviour of disabled people in France. His current research focuses on housing policies for disabled people in France from an intersectional perspective, articulating race, class, gender and disability. His publications appear in French and international journals such as Social Policy and Society, Revue Française de Science Politique, Politix and International Political Anthropology. He recently coordinated the publication of a collective work entitled Handicap cause politique (2021), with contributions from David Pettinicchio, Michelle Maroto and Karen Soldatic, among others.
