EducationEdD., M.F.A., C.E.

Dr. Yasser Ismail (he/him) is a credentialed evaluator (C.E.) and scholar-practitioner dedicated to improving the ways in which evaluation, research, and evidence-generation cuts through methodological noise to focus on transformative ethical implications of knowledge production and use. Grounded in his doctoral research work focused on health professions education strategies to cultivate intersectionally trauma-informed care for multi-structurally excluded individuals, Dr. Ismail led the hospital’s first ever team of evaluators and client-centered design specialists in inaugurating data-infrastructure, measurement, evaluation, and client centered service design at Casey House. The insights generated through this work has enabled the hospital to understand significant and intersecting sociodemographic and socio-structural shifts within its client population, identifying need for strategic growth. Yasser is currently the chief strategy & knowledge officer at Casey House hospital, leading a three-year strategic transformation focused on re-imagining, designing, and implementing hospital-based HIV prevention and care programs and service pathways to centre the needs of people and communities facing stigma and systemic discrimination at institutional settings.
