Dr. Ciro Bustillo LeCompte
Dr. LeCompte is a multidisciplinary scholar with expertise in civil, environmental, and chemical engineering, focusing on environmental health and safety. He is an Adjunct Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University and an Associate Member of the Environmental Applied Science and Management Graduate Programs.
Dr. LeCompte holds a PhD and Master of Applied Science from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Cartagena, Colombia. He is a certified Professional Engineer (PEng), Environmental Professional (EP), a Fraternal Member of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI), and a Queen Elizabeth Scholar (QES).
His research addresses challenges in environmental sustainability and health equity. He serves as an Associate Member in the Environmental Applied Science and Management Graduate Programs, where he continues to inspire and mentor future generations of environmental professionals. Additionally, he is an Associate Editor for "Environmental Health and Exposome", "Frontiers in Public Health" and "Water, Waste and Wastewater Engineering", "Frontiers in Environmental Engineering". Dr. LeCompte's work is community-engaged, promoting evidence-based solutions that enhance health equity and community resilience.
