Dr. Cheryl Teelucksingh is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at Ryerson University. Professor Teelucksingh’s research over the last twenty years has focused on examining the relationship between environmental justice in Canada and concerns for social inequality. Dr. Teelucksingh has also participated in SSHRC and CIHR funded grants as well as numerous publications in the areas of environmental justice and racialization in Canada. Her research uses a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to explore her areas of interest, including community-based research. Professor Teelucksingh is actively involved with several community organizations and environmental non-governmental organizations that are committed to both social and environmental change. She holds a B.A. Honours from Queen’s University, a M.C.S. from the University of Calgary, and a Ph.D in Sociology from York University.
