If you've been teaching at TMU for any length of time, you've likely received a notice of a "Test Centre booking" from a student who is registered with AAS. Or maybe a student in your class missed an exam due to illness and had to book a make-up test. In this Teach and Talk, Brian Williams, Manager of the Test Center and Accessibility Services, takes you behind the scenes at the Test Center to give you a better sense of what happens at each stage of an accommodated or make-up test. Brian will also clarify some of the commonly misunderstood procedures. You will leave this session with a greater understanding of what goes into an accommodated test for students, staff, and faculty.

Facilitated by:

  • Brian Williams, Manager of the Test Center and Accessibility Services
  • Jenny Sampirisi (AAS)

This event is part of the AAS Teach & Talk Sessions.

About the AAS Teach & Talk Sessions

Academic Accommodation Support (AAS) in collaboration with the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) presents "AAS Teach & Talk Sessions". The series covers a range of topics designed to build faculty and instructors' understanding of accommodations for students with disabilities at Toronto Metropolitan University. Topics include "deep dives" into accommodations, panel discussions, inclusive course design practices, policy overviews, and more.
