Our Leadership

Kay Simon has always had the deepest love and passion for camp, the outdoors, and the idea of changing the life of every camper, staff, and being that decides to come to camp. Kay proudly identifies as non-binary, and uses the pronouns zi and zir. Zi has been working at camps for the past 9 years, and is grateful to have had a chance to work with such a variety of youth everywhere from overnight Mennonite and Christian camps to Rainbow Camp, a camp for Queer + Trans youth. Kay is currently in school at Seneca @ York for Social Service Work in hopes to one day become a teacher. Kay brings with zir boundless excitement to be able to create a wonderful experience for Toronto Met Day Camps and the community it serves.

Matt Edmonds is a lifelong camp kid entering his second year with Ryerson Camps. Growing up in Hamilton, he first fell in love with camp at McMaster. As a camper, junior leader, counsellor, and member of the camps leadership team, Matt spent 18 wonderful summers with McMaster’s day camp program. Along the way, he earned a B.Sc and B.Ed before finding work at the University of Alberta, where he ran their Intramural Sports program for five years. Now back in Ontario, Matt is excited to help bring the Ryerson Camps program to life for yet another incredible summer.

You can contact Matt at camps@torontomu.ca.
