What does it mean to be a Black TMU grad?
Black people are highly underrepresented in the architecture field, especially Black women making up 0.3% of architects in North America according to the New York Times. As the only Black person graduating from my program, I aim to continue to promote inclusion within architectural education and inspire future students.
What advice do you have for other Black students at TMU?
Recognize that your unique perspective as a Black student brings immense value to your field of study. Embrace your identity, be proud of your heritage and use it as a source of strength and motivation.
