Five Ways to Get to Know TMU From Home

The air is chillier and the leaves are falling from the trees here in Toronto, which means colder winter weather is approaching. It’s the perfect time to stay indoors buried under blankets to avoid the outdoors at all costs. Luckily for you, there are five ways to get to know everything about Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) without leaving the comfort of your home!

1. Virtual Tour

One of the best ways to get to know TMU is through a campus tour. You can get to know campus from the comfort of your couch by exploring our virtual tour! Step inside buildings like the Student Learning Centre, take a walk through the Quad, learn about Zone Learning and more by just watching on your desktop or mobile device.

2. ChooseTMU on Social Media

Social media, we all know and love it. You can learn about TMU there too! Follow us on Instagram (external link, opens in new window) , TikTok (external link, opens in new window) YouTube (external link, opens in new window) , Twitter (external link, opens in new window) , and Facebook (external link, opens in new window)  for awesome content from current students. Following these social media accounts was how I learnt so much about TMU before starting as a student! I loved engaging with our student ambassadors during their Instagram takeovers by asking questions and seeing their days in real time. I also think my fellow student ambassadors make some pretty great content nowadays too!

3. Webinars

If you want to learn about TMU from the people who know it best, check out our webinars! They can vary in topic, but cover everything you need to know about our university. Our webinars all take place online, meaning you can tune in while wearing your pajamas with a plethora of snacks if you’d like — we won’t know!

4. Chat with a Current Student

In my opinion, one of the best ways to learn about a university program and student life is to chat with a current student. If this sounds like something you think would be useful for you, book an appointment with one of our student ambassadors! When available, they can talk to you about their journey to university, current program and other relevant experiences. The best part is that you can do this all online and chat with them from anywhere!

5. Connect with a Recruitment Officer

If you’d like to know more about admissions, scholarships and experiential learning opportunities, talking with a recruitment officer may be for you! When available, these university staff members have knowledge about pretty much everything to do with our university, and are looking to share it with prospective students like you!

There is definitely no shortage of ways to learn about us without even having to step foot on campus. Also, don’t forget that you can learn all about TMU on this blog as well! Whether you live near or far, you’ll be able to get to know everything about us.

Until next time,
