Adopt-IT is a research program launched by the Ted Rogers School of Management's Institute for Innovation and Technology Management (IITM) at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Focus

Adopt-IT aims to advance socially conscious and ethical adoption of digital innovations across major sectors of the Canadian economy focusing on:

Scope

Cross-disciplinary academic researchers from Toronto Metropolitan University partner with national and international scholars to explore and elucidate adoption and social implications of societal digitalization:

  • AI algorithms and Bots
  • Context-Aware Computing
  • Big Data technologies
  • Mobile Technology

Industry partnership

Adopt-IT aims to advance competitive and sustainable innovation in Canadian organizations, Small and Medium Enterprises in particular, through:

  • Improved understanding of the barriers as well as accelerators of technology adoption.
  • Development of methodologies for envisioning and designing new business models, including strategy, business process innovation, and training, that exploit emerging ICTs.
  • Development of a culture of multidisciplinary research collaboration between academic institutions and industry to facilitate timely generation of insights and business innovations that keep up with a rapidly evolving ICT arena.
