Winter Term Financial Updates
Welcome back! We hope you had a great Mid-Year Break. Here’s what you need to know to manage your finances this term.
Key Dates
Classes start:
- Engineering and specified Architectural Science classes: Monday, January 5, 2026
- All other undergraduate program classes: Friday, January 9, 2026
Fee Payment Deadline: Friday, January 30, 2026
Stay on track by reviewing the significant dates and course drop and program withdrawal deadlines.
Winter Term Fees
- Check Your Balance: Review your balance in MyServiceHub after finalizing your course enrolments.
- Pay Online: Visit How to Pay Your Tuition and Fees for details.
- Avoid Late Fees: Payment due by Friday, January 30, 2026 regardless of payment method (e.g. OSAP, personal funds). Deadlines are found on the Tuition and Fees Deadlines page.
OSAP
The OSAP Confirmation of Enrolment process is underway and will continue through the end of January.
To ensure timely processing of your OSAP:
- Upload required documents to the OSAP Portal
- Ensure your course load matches your OSAP application. (i.e. enrol in the right number of courses for full-time OSAP or part-time OSAP)
- Check the OSAP Message Centre for updates
Disbursement: Funds may take up to 10 business days to arrive after your enrolment is confirmed. Track this on the NSLSC Funding Tracker.
Course Load Changes: If adding or dropping courses doesn’t change your full-time OSAP/part-time OSAP status, no action is needed. Updates to your course load on your OSAP application will appear by mid-February. If you're not enrolled in a sufficient course load for your OSAP application (i.e. full-time or part-time), it’s your responsibility to apply for the correct OSAP application.
For more details, visit the (google doc) OSAP Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) (external link) .
Entrance Scholarships
Winter entrance scholarship or renewal instalments will be posted to student accounts starting this week and continue through Friday, January 30, 2026 if eligibility criteria are met:
- Maintain an 80% course load (4+ billing units) for both fall and winter terms
- Meet all other entrance scholarship eligibility requirements
If you're registered with Academic Accommodation Support and have an academic accommodation that requires a reduced course load, email awards@torontomu.ca by Friday, January 23, 2026 to confidentially disclose accommodation to ensure your scholarship is processed.
Awards and Bursaries
Explore AwardSpring (external link) regularly for new funding opportunities.
Note that scholarships and bursaries issued by TMU are automatically reported to OSAP. If you’ve already self-reported an award, please review What happens if I already reported my TMU award, scholarship, or bursary?
