Dr. Sheila Holmes

Undergraduate Medical Education Course Lead, Practice of Medicine

Dr. Sheila Holmes is an Endocrinologist at William Osler Health System - Etobicoke General Hospital. She also works at Toronto General Hospital in the Metabolic Bone Diseases/Osteoporosis Clinic and Internal Medicine inpatient wards.

She attended medical school at the University of Toronto, followed by an Internal Medicine residency at the University of British Columbia. She then completed her Endocrinology training at the University of Toronto. She completed a sub-specialty fellowship in Pregnancy Endocrinology. 

Dr. Holmes completed her Masters of Science in Community Health at the University of Toronto in the field of Health Practitioner Teacher Education. She is involved in undergraduate and graduate medical education through the University of Toronto and McMaster University. In 2021, she received the University of Toronto Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program Teaching Excellence Award, which is awarded to the top 10 per cent of teachers within the university's Temerty Faculty of Medicine.
