Juan Saavedra

  

Juan Saavedra is an award-winning design researcher and graphic designer based in Toronto. He merges graphic and industrial design with social programs and policy research to craft communication strategies to advance community engagement, health equity, and poverty reduction.

Juan received the Mayor’s Community Safety Award from the City of Toronto for his innovative work with LGBTQI+ communities and has led discussions and projects on housing insecurity, design practices, and HIV education. His practice spans co-design, food security, health literacy, public health, design activism, and social innovation.
