Message from the Chair

Welcome to New Media at the Creative School! 

New Media is an exciting and eclectic art program that lives at the intersection of technology and culture. We have been preparing students to adapt to an ever-changing landscape for almost 30 years! 

Our curriculum is designed to give students a strong foundation while remaining open-ended. We provide a space for the curious, the explorers and the dreamers who want to imagine what the future of technology could be like. Our program is hands-on, with a lot of small classes and direct access to a diverse faculty. Every studio course is an opportunity to build a portfolio piece that will ultimately help communicate who you are as a creative maker. New Media puts all the pieces together.

Our core values are centered around building a strong community of practice, kindness, nurturing inclusivity, developing mutual respect and encouraging student growth. In our Makerspace, we recognize that everyone has to start somewhere, but also everyone is an expert at something. Everyone has something to learn and something to contribute. 

New Media will take you on a journey. You’ll grow as an artist, innovator and creator in ways you didn’t expect. You’ll make amazing friends along the way. We’ll be there to challenge you but also support you as you discover your passion.
