Felipe Téllez is an award-winning Colombian-Canadian composer, orchestrator, and music producer whose work bridges symphonic tradition, Colombian folk, and contemporary electronic production. He is the recipient of the 2025 Colombian Film Academy Award (Macondo) for Best Score for Estimados Señores (Dear Gentlemen), which earned 9 Academy Awards out of 12 nominations. His music has been featured in international festivals such as TIFF and Cinequest, as well as in theatrical releases across the Americas.

At Toronto Metropolitan University, Felipe teaches Music Theory, Film and Digital Music Production subjects, and is a member of the Yeates School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, where he supervises Master’s and Doctoral students. His work includes projects with the Bogotá Philharmonic, the Colombian National Symphony Orchestra, and the Canadian Studio Symphony, which he founded to promote new orchestral and media music. His practice combines artistic innovation with a strong commitment to mentorship and cultural equity.
