Anne McNeilly

Professor Emeritus

Professor Anne McNeilly joined Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Journalism after more than 25 years as a journalist; including 18 years as an editor for The Globe and Mail and eight years prior to that as a reporter for The Ottawa Citizen and The Waterloo Region Record where she won six Ontario newspaper awards.

She held a variety of positions at The Globe, including Copy Chief and Assistant National Editor. In 2000, she joined a six-member team that launched the paper’s new Focus section. She was elected twice as a “Prof who made a Mark” by Ryerson students.
