Become a Student-in-Residence!

Calling computer science/engineering, math, and/or business technology management students ğŸ“£

This program offers students a part-time placement with an SDZ startup over the Winter term + $800 for their time! Placements will be no more than 4-8 hours a week and will give you the chance to apply your skills through a resume-enhancing opportunity. 

Open placements:

  • Full-stack developer/software developer (two roles)
  • Machine Learning Engineer - Python or any sort of previous ML experience is preferred (ex. TensorFlow, NumPy, scikit-learn, etc.)
  • Desktop Engineer (web-based) - experience in any web-based framework (ex: React) or TypeScript

Courses

Learning is done best outside of the classroom–there, we said it. The SDZ facilitates three courses at Toronto Metropolitan University:

  • CKIH200: Science Leadership
  • SCI999: Research Practicum
  • Research Commercialization (graduate-level course)

Student Skills-training Program

Similar to an internship, this program pairs students with SDZ startups. Through this 4 month collaboration, students can build industry-relevant skills and startups can gain operational support and fresh perspectives.
