Today's Thrifty Consumer: A Study of Online Shopping Preferences © 2009

The goal or this paper is to present spatial analysis and geodemographic profiles or users of online flyers and coupons. Flyers are extra sections inserted into newspapers. Coupons are small tickets entitling the holder to a discount. Due to the increase or internet speed, accessibility and usage, shopping information channels, such as flyers and coupons, have been posted online in response to the changing media environment. This type of information is typically difficult to analyze due to the unreliability or using internet protocol addresses. In this paper, the users are studied via their FSA LDUs from membership lists and requests. Results indicate influences or income, settlement context, along with family status and the availability of free time. The understanding of the profiles will lead to increased users due to marketing strategies or Company X based on the geography and demography of the current user profile.
