Bill Lawrence started his career at CHCH-TV in Hamilton. Technician, director, producer, writer and announcer, he practiced his craft in black and white, live. He created children’s programs described as precursors to Sesame Street with puppets and strong educational content, including Interesting Room,Special Place, and Albert J. Steed. For 35 years, he hosted and co-produced Tiny Talent Time, the second longest running Canadian TV show that often topped NFL telecasts.

At the CBC, he presented weather and news for 28 years along with documentaries, game shows, specials, and programs including It’s Your Choice, Juliette and Friends, VIP, and Such Is Life. For Global-TV, Bill announced for the lotteries, Million Dollar Sweeps and Travel Analysis. From 1980-1996, he was a professor with RTA. He now proudly enjoys watching his former students build successful careers. Bill Lawrence was an integral part of broadcasting’s evolution throughout a five-decade career.
