Minor in Mathematics

The purpose of the Minor is to offer students an opportunity to attain greater breadth and depth in mathematics than their program normally requires. Courses can be pursued in depth in the general areas of Linear Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, and Discrete Mathematics (where appropriate).

Advanced knowledge of mathematics and mathematical techniques are useful to a wide-range of disciplines including computer science, science and engineering.

Exclusions: This minor is not available to students in the following programs:

To receive this Minor, students must complete six (6) courses from the following curriculum:

One (1) of the following:

  • MTH 110 Discrete Mathematics I
  • MTH 314 Discrete Mathematics for Engineers

Plus one (1) of the following:

  • MTH 312 Differential Equations and Vector Calculus
  • MTH 330 Calculus and Geometry
  • MTH 425 Differential Equations and Vector Calculus
