Queer Sociology

This course explores queer cultures, communities, social movements and activism, considering contemporary trans,two-spirited, gay, lesbian and bisexual identities, encompassing the term LGBTQ2SA+ while distinguishing amongst those experiences. The course may address historical and contemporary societies, on a global scale and within local context in Toronto. An inter-sectional approach positions queerness in relation to race, gender, class, age, disability, body-type, religion, ethnicity, citizenship and legal status.
