Midwifery: Complex Care I

This course offers weekly online tutorials and clinical placement(s). Students take increasing responsibility for care and decision-making, including inter-professional collaboration in complex cases. Integration of professional issues includes promotion of physiologic childbirth, population health, sexual health and reproductive justice, midwifery care in low resources settings, health policy, quality and safety, midwifery leadership, risk management and ethics. Clinical placements are in midwifery and/or inter-professional practice settings. (Graded as pass/fail)
