Queer Cinemas

This course addresses the history of queer cinema and the representation of LGBTQ people and cultures. Topics include popular Hollywood cinema, American Underground films, New Queer Cinema, popular LGBTQ film, and queer films stemming from selected world cinemas. These will be discussed within a critical framework informed by contemporary film, feminist and queer theory.
