Introduction to Digital Image Processing

The course will cover basic theory and principles of digital image processing. The topics covered include: Image Capture and Display, Digital Image Storage and formats, 2-D Sampling and Quantization of Images, Grey-level image processing, 2-D image filtering operations (spatial and frequency domain), colour and trichromacy, planar colour image processing, image compression, and the extension of concepts to video.
