Overview of classical controls and introduction to modern control theory. Control system modeling and analysis in state space. System controllability and observability. Pole placement control design. State observers. Introduction to nonlinear control systems. Fundamentals of Lyapunov theory. Lyapunov’s direct method. System linearization. Adaptive control.
