The World of Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt is often associated with mummies, pyramids, and mystery, which reflects only a part of the ancient and complex society that existed for over 5000 years. This course provides a thematic overview of the culture and history of ancient Egypt. Through art, archaeology and literature, students will be introduced to the worldview, culture, and society of ancient Egypt to build a foundational understanding of the world created by the Ancient Egyptians in the course of several millennia of history.
