Film History and Criticism since 1960

This course surveys the history and criticism of the cinema from the early 1960’s to the present. It traces major film movements and filmmakers, as well as the critical analysis that was produced to grapple with important issues of representation and context. Topics include: authorship, genre, ideology, national cinema, diversity and alternative film practices.
