Aerospace Sensors

Principles of transducers and signal conditioners will be introduced, for both analog and digital systems. Various sensors and their applications in avionics systems will be studied including pitot tubes, magnetometers, gyroscopes, accelerometers, inertial measurement units, lidar, optical flow, depth cameras, and others. Lab experience will include practicing with analog and digital circuits, sensor boards, communication interfaces, signal processing and microcontroller programming.
