Financial Accounting Theory

This course studies the theoretical and practical issues encountered in contemporary accounting practice. With an emphasis on developing critical thinking and communications skills. Some of the topics include decision usefulness, efficient securities markets, and agency theory. Economic and political issues relating to the accounting standard-setting process will also be covered.
