SMIF Consortium South Conference 2026

April 10-11, 2026 in Miami, Florida

The Student Managed Investment Fund Consortium (SMIFC) South Conference brought together student-managed investment funds from various universities to exchange ideas, engage with industry professionals and participate in competitive evaluation events. As part of the conference, participants completed a financial analysis project on Oracle Corporation and presented their fund through the poster session competition.

Ted Rogers School of Management students Daniel Panatte and Yazan Abusaleh, led by faculty advisor Daniel Tut, took part in the competition. The team’s Oracle analysis demonstrated a strong application of valuation and research frameworks, and received one of the highest individual scores awarded by a judge. Similarly, their poster presentation achieved one of the top evaluation scores in the competition, reflecting strong execution in both visual design and communication of the fund’s strategy.

Overall, the conference provided a valuable learning experience, while also reinforcing the competitiveness of Ted Rogers School’s SMIF relative to peer institutions.
