About the Team

National Student Recruitment develops and leads all Canadian recruitment initiatives for TMU through:

  • National high school visit programs, education events, tours and fairs to recruit prospective Canadian applicants
  • Online information sessions with faculty and students
  • Open houses, guidance counsellor events and campus tours (both virtually and in-person)

The opportunity

The Liaison Officer role is an important contributor to the University’s overall enrolment priorities. As a Liaison Officer, you will provide general and detailed program-related information to prospective students, key influencers, applicants and the public, all to promote TMU as a top postsecondary choice and increase applications. Liaison Officers visit high schools and colleges across Ontario to deliver engaging recruitment presentations and attend recruitment fairs, actively promoting the University, and its programs and services. Liaison Officers provide logistical support for recruitment activities and events in the promotion of programs and the institution, and participate in University collective programming with other institutions. They provide general information to prospective student and supporter audiences on the University’s admissions standards based on the current policies and procedures, and maintain an exemplary level of professionalism and client service as a primary liaison between the University and the guidance counsellor community, prospective students and their influencers. 

This is a hybrid position with a continuous office presence to start before transitioning to primarily off-campus work involving local travel to high schools across Ontario. Some evenings and select weekend work will be required. 

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree program, preferably from TMU
  • Experience in public speaking, customer service, advising and in dealing effectively with all types of people
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Experience with event coordination
  • Strong administrative, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Google Suite applications (Slides, Sheets, Docs, etc.) and MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check with a clear standing is required to visit high schools  
  • G Driver’s Licence, or equivalent, with a clear drivers abstract
