World Fashion: Contemporary Perspectives

Exploring dress across Asia, Africa, and the Americas, this course fosters a broad understanding of the complex relationships between global dress and culture to expand student knowledge on the influences and interactions between cultures. Each region is covered through themes such as history, hybridity and diaspora. The course goal is to help students develop an appreciation and understanding of dress diversity from a contemporary perspective.
