Toronto Metropolitan Aero Design
Date of Achievement: March 8, 2026
Toronto Met Aero Design recently travelled to Florida for the SAE Aero Design East Competition. The team unveiled a tandem wing aircraft design called the Progenitor, achieving a 4th and 5th place result in the design presentation and report. With the lessons learned from the competition, the team is working diligently towards earning a podium place next year.
MetRocketry
Date of Achievement: July 2, 2026
MetRocketry proudly represented Toronto Metropolitan University at the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC), the world’s largest student rocketry competition. Competing in the highest altitude category, 45,000 feet, our team successfully designed, built, and launched a two-stage rocket against top university teams from around the world. This experience gave our team the chance to apply everything we had been working on, from rocket design and manufacturing to testing and integration, while working closely together to make the project a reality. Competing at IREC in the 45,000 foot two stage category was a huge milestone for MetRocketry and an unforgettable achievement for everyone involved.
MACH
Date of Achievement: August 14, 2025
MACH Team participated in the Launch Canada Tech Dev Challenge located in Timmins, Ontario. We presented our project called SPRINT, a liquid bi-proopellant (ethanol & nitrous oxide) static hotfire and won 4th place.
