Irene Hassas
Irene’s enthusiasm in economic development and export has been the driving force in building and growing companies, developing strategic plans, partnerships and business opportunities at the national & international levels. This approach contributed into the growth and expansion within various markets through leading many projects in both private and public sectors.
In the private sector, she has managed sales, operations and business development in the cleantech industry in jurisdictions such as Canada, US, Latin America, South East Asia, and MENA regions. As the managing director of InnoPartners Global, Irene worked with many innovative technology companies, and consulting, legal and financial firms and supported small and medium size companies with their expansion into emerging markets and geographies.
As a member of Board of Directors, committee chair and advisor of different levels of Governments, NGOs, media firms, and academic institutions such as Ontario Environment Industry, Ontario Onsite Wastewater, Partners in Projects Green, Ryerson University, York Region, Actual Media, etc, she has led committee meetings and roundtables, organized cleantech events and led discussion on industry challenges and opportunities with stakeholders.
She has completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies at York University, executive training at Harvard Business School in Aligning Strategy and Sales as well as Business Leadership Development at Ivey School of Business.
Currently, she is a member of IRAP team at the National Research Council Canada, supporting growth and scale up of Canadian SMEs in Innovation sector including Cleantech and other industrial sectors.
