Important: New guidelines for ordering and receiving meals from the dining hall

To: Meal plan holders living in HOEM or off-campus

As you may be aware, on Monday Toronto Public Health (TPH) declared an outbreak of COVID-19 in Pitman Hall.

To help support the health and safety of our community, meal plan holders living in HOEM or off-campus will be required to place orders for meals online and pick-up their meals in-person from the Pitman Dining Hall during predetermined times beginning Thursday, April 15.

We apologize for being unable to provide advanced notice of this change and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Instructions for ordering your meals for pick-up

We’re sharing a meal pick-up menu for the period of April 15-17 and encourage you to make your meal selections by 8 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, April 15. The form will remain open until 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 15.

Select your meals for the period of April 15 - April 17

  1. Review your meal options for the period of April 15 to April 17 online at ryerson.ca/pitman-dining-hall
  2. Secure your meal selections for the period of April 15 - April 17 by completing the  (google form) Meal Selection for HOEM/Off-Campus Students: April 15 -17 form (external link)  by 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 15.

Place orders for a week’s worth of meals by 10 a.m. on Saturdays

For next week’s meal pick-up orders, you will receive an email on Thursday asking you to place orders for the following week’s worth of meals by 10 a.m. on Saturdays. You will receive the first of these emails on Thursday, April 15 for the meal pick-up period of Sunday, April 18 to Saturday, April 24. 

Meal pick-up times and procedures have changed

Daily meal pick-up in the Pitman Dining Hall is available during the times listed below. You will be asked to select a daily meal pick-up time via the  (google form) Meal Selection for HOEM/Off-Campus Students: April 15 -17 form (external link)  when ordering your meals.

5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Instructions for picking up your meals

When you enter the dining hall, if there is a line, please join it and keep a distance of six feet between yourself and other students.

When you get to the front of the line, a Food Services staff member will ask you to state your name and student number. Once you receive your meal, you will be asked to exit the dining hall. A meal equivalency will be deducted from your remaining balance within 24 hours.

Accommodations for students observing Ramadan

Students observing Ramadan may request to receive two servings of our dinner menu when they pick-up their evening meal to support their fast. This can be arranged via the  (google form) Meal Selection for HOEM/Off-Campus Students: April 15 -17 form (external link) .
