TedPack - your TRSM Community

What's a TedPack?

Before you enter your first year at the Ted Rogers School, you will be automatically placed in a TedPack - a cohort of 45+ first-year students in the same program as you. You will also be assisted by your TedPack Ambassador, a fellow first-year student who makes sure the TedPacks are active in their engagement, and two TedPack Mentors, upper-year students who are there to help guide you.

Through your TedPack, you’ll have the chance to connect with peers from around the world, attend events, and develop a strong support system that lasts beyond your first year. You’ll stay with the same TedPack for the entire academic year - growing, learning, and celebrating milestones together as you continue your Ted Rogers School journey.

FFB newsletter highlighting that your Ted Points are found at the top right of the newsletter

TedPoints are a way to track your experience. One TedPoint equals one hour of engagement across our school. You can find out how many TedPoints you have by checking the FFB weekly newsletter every Tuesday at 10 a.m. from trsm.students@trsm-connect.torontomu.ca

We do this because we know that you can maximize your first-year university experience as you access support beyond the classroom while learning, building your network and a stronger sense of community with other students and the school. Whether it’s a one-on-one chat with a Career Coordinator or Student Advisor, taking part in a TRSS student group-run event, attending tutoring sessions, Bootcamps or attending any TRSM events students are rewarded with TedPoints.

Students also are rewarded with certain perks with the amount of TedPoints they earn, such as access to exclusive events and more!

Previously known as TedPack Leaders, TedPack Ambassadors are incoming first year students that are assigned to their TedPack of around 45 students. The Ambassadors’ objective is to increase student engagement within the Ted Rogers School of Management and connect students to events and supports that relate to their program of study. They will also promote events and support through social media and word of mouth.

TedPack Mentors are upper-year Ted Rogers School students who are in the same program as their TedPack. Their purpose is to provide mentorship and guidance to TedPack members so they can better succeed in their first year. TedPack Mentors will also have access to an Alumni Mentor which are graduated students who provide 1-1 mentorship to the TedPack Mentors.

Alumni Mentors are graduated students who are connected with a TedPack Mentor, and their purpose is to provide 1-1 mentorship to TedPack Mentors. It’s an opportunity for Mentors to connect with Alumni who have been in the same shoes as them and also in the workforce so they can offer career guidance and professional development.

The TedPack Ambassador opportunity is open to all incoming first-year students and must apply during the summer prior to beginning in their first year. As of now, the applications are closed.

TedPack Ambassadors will receive a LinkedIn Badge at the end of the academic year to acknowledge and commemorate their time and efforts which they have volunteered in this role to enable and engage a strong first-year community.
