My department/school is hosting an event. I have seen the President's/Chancellor's invitation and would like to make our invitations the same as those. Can I?

A: In order to keep Presidential or Chancellorial invitations distinct, a unique design has been created. This exclusive invitation can be identified by the blue "R" and yellow "U" which adorns the front/top.

Communications, Government and Community Engagement (CGCE) works with departments/schools to create templatedevent invitations that feature the Ryerson brand mark centered on the front/bottom. To order invitations, contact CGCE at least 3-4 weeks before your desired delivery date at 416-979-5000, ext. 7894.

I have seen the Ryerson crest and would like to use it on my invitation/documents. What is the protocol for using the Ryerson crest?

A: The use of Toronto Metropolitan University's crest is reserved for the Chancellor's Office, President's Office, official scholarly documents and convocation. Our department/school is hosting a high profile event which has distinguished guests attending. Is it possible to have the Chancellor or President co-host the event?

A: The President and Chancellor can co-host events. The most common approach is the concept of 'hosting in-name-only'. Which traditionally means the use of their title is used to help bring awareness to the prestige of the event. Please contact the President/Chancellor's Office for details.
