Learn about medicines that exist in your own “backyard”  from Two-spirit Earth worker, Joce Tremblay & Pow Wow Outreach Lead Zaagi’idiwin Amanda.

Joce Tremblay

Joce Tremblay (they/their/them) is a Great Lakes Métis of Mohawk, Potawatomi, French and Ashkénaze ancestries, and is of the Beaver Clan. They are a Two Spirit/Queer/Trans artist, activist, and agro-ecologist, from the wetlands of south western Onta:rio. They currently live, play, and practice in Tkaronto. They were the Earthwork Coordinator with Ojibiikaan Indigenous Cultural Network, and are currently the Indigenous Program Coordinator with Greenest City.

Zaagidiwin Amanda

Zaagidiwin is a Two-Spirit Ogichidaa-Kwe, storyteller and artist. Zaagidiwn joins the Ryerson Student Pow Wow as the Medicines, Ceremonies and Community Outreach Lead. Zaagidiwin believes strongly in the reclamation of Indigenous knowledges and decolonization through social justice, creative dialogue and the arts. Zaagidiwin is an undergraduate student in Ryerson’s School of Social Work as well as the Chang School Aboriginal Knowledge and Experiences Certificate Program with expected 2020 graduation.
