Skot Deeming
Skot Deeming is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist, curator, and scholar whose practice is rooted in the radical potential of DIY aesthetics. His work traverses the boundaries of media art, underground culture, and speculative design, exploring how grassroots creativity reshapes dominant narratives in art, technology, and culture.
Skot’s ethos is grounded in the interzones: between play and critique, analog and digital, scholar and maker, punk and pedagogue. He approaches toys / media as sites for critical, cultural excavation; working in the messy, joyful, rebellious edges of play, creative expression and scholarship.
His work has been exhibited in galleries, conventions and alternative spaces across the globe, including the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Museum, La Mama, and El Museo del Juguetes Antiguo Mexicano.
