Research

Dr. Horvat's interests in developing more efficient and long-lasting buildings during her undergraduate studies has led her to do research in building science. Knowing that buildings use up to 35% of the global energy production, greatly contribute to the green house gas emission and to the man-made climate change led her to pursue this path of research. As humans we spend up to 90% of our time indoors, ensuring that buildings are comfortable in terms of heating, cooling and fresh air, with sufficient exposure to daylight and less indoor pollutants that can cause allergies and asthma is also a huge task for those involved in designing and building infrastructures, creating a tremendous need for the collaboration of architectures and engineers.
